THE LAW NEEDS TO CHANGE

Any adult child of a suspected Narcissist.

We need laws in place where the adult child can be taken away from the suspected Narcissist forcibly to be assessed by a professional medical person who is a professional in that field of Narcissistic Child Abuse, as the adult child has been used and abused, manipulated their entire life and do not think the way a normal person thinks as they think the way they have been taught and they have been taught so that the Narcissist can keep control of them and to continue with the abuse and manipulation of the adult child for the rest of their life.

Daddy Issues: How Daughters of Narcissistic Fathers Can Cope (Part 2)

Her sexuality and interest in boys (or girls) as an adolescent challenges this and compels him to police and shame her in unhealthy ways. He may have instilled in his daughter an overreliance on his approval that can be difficult to extricate from.

He may have substituted emotional connection with financial ‘generosity’ and control, teaching her that in order to be loved she had to also be ‘bought’ – and that, whoever did ‘purchase’ her was entitled to her.

By degrading or devaluing them sexually, they maintain control over their daughters (or their sons) in ways that are damaging beyond words.

  • Is there someone you know who is extremely self-absorbed? This seems to be the common understanding of narcissism. But, it’s not defining the real problem with narcissism.

The label narcissist is used loosely these days, typically to indicate someone who is vain and selfish, but the personality disorder and the traits of narcissism run much deeper.

Do You Feel Not Good Enough?

Have you wondered where your internalized message of “I’m not good enough,” comes from? Do you feel you give life your best, work hard, try hard, but still can’t give yourself credit? Are you constantly beating yourself up and thinking that somehow you should be more, do more, be better, and you don't measure up in your own mind?

    Narcissists Are Not Accountable

Lack of accountability is a pet peeve for sure, and also a common problem with narcissists. Although there are many disturbing factors in the personality of a narcissist, this one is tough to deal with in any relationship. It’s hard to understand. What is so difficult about owning up to mistakes when we’re wrong?

What is the cornerstone of maternal or paternal narcissism? Do you worry you might be a narcissistic parent? Most of us with children hold the value that we would never consciously do anything to harm our children. When we do, even if unwitting, we carry guilt and heavy remorse.

Adult children of narcissistic parents commonly grow up with this nagging feeling that they flunked childhood and it’s all their fault. They internalize the message they are not good enough no matter how hard they try.

Narcissists are driven to succeed regardless of whom they hurt, lies they tell or co-workers they step on. They believe they are entitled to the best, given their superior sense of self. Even though the narcissist appears to be self-confident and secure, the opposite is true and a narcissist needs constant praise and affirmation due to a lack of self-esteem.

Given that they feel bad about themselves, they desire to make those around them feel bad too. This leads to narcissistic abuse. The goal with this behavior is to feed the never-ending ego of the narcissist. If you, or someone you love, is in any type of relationship with a narcissist, proceed with extreme caution and prepare yourself

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) Mind Health Australia.

Personality disorders are a group of conditions that affect people’s thoughts, behaviours and emotions in long-term negative patterns that occur in all areas of life.

People with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) may appear arrogant, with an inflated self-image and disregard for the feelings of others. This disorder can cause socially destructive behaviours that damage relationships.

NPD is part of the cluster of personality disorders with symptoms of intense and unstable emotions and a distorted self-image. It’s a rare disorder, affecting more men than women and is usually evident by early adulthood.

The nature of NPD symptoms means it’s hard for people who suffer from the disorder to realise they have a problem. When you believe you’re better than everyone else, why would you think there’s anything wrong? It is often the family or loved ones who are most aware of this problem and who also suffer the consequences.
